Job Summary
The Junior Quantity Surveyor supports the commercial and pre-contract team in preparing Bills of Quantities, Cost Plans, and quantity take-offs for building and infrastructure projects in the Middle East. The role involves assisting in cost estimation, measurement of quantities, tender documentation, and cost analysis to ensure accurate project budgeting and financial control.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and BIM models in line with standard methods.
Assist in preparing and structuring BOQs, ensuring clarity and alignment with project scope.
Support cost planning and estimation by compiling cost data, unit rates, and benchmarks.
Assist in tender documentation, review drawings for discrepancies, and support bid preparation.
Maintain cost records, BOQ databases, and prepare cost comparisons and reports.
Coordinate with design teams and senior QS staff to clarify scope and support project discussions.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering.
0–3 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost estimation (fresh graduates may be considered).
Knowledge of standard measurement methods such as NRM, POMI, CESMM, and CSI.
Ability to interpret architectural, structural, ID, MEP, and infrastructure drawings.
Strong skills in quantity take-off and measurement.
Proficiency in Excel and quantity take-off software such as CostX, PlanSwift, Revit, or similar tools.
Basic understanding of construction materials, methods, and pricing.
Good analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
